The SYSTM Hammer by Incase is a sleek, lightweight iPhone case that offers great drop protection for your iPhone. Poron XRD corners and rollbar borders absorb impact and protect your screen in the event that you happen to drop your phone from unspeakable heights.
Packaging
I usually don’t use the word awesome when describing packaging, but the packaging for the SYSTM Hammer was simply awesome! Just pull on the tab on the back of the box and the package flips open and the product comes out. No scissors, tearing, or teeth required!
Build
The build quality for an impact resistant case is very important. One can’t afford to make any compromises in this area and still expect a case to serve its purpose. The SYSTM Hammer delivers big time in build quality. Constructed of impact resistant rubber and reinforced with Poron XRD foam in the corners, you can rest assured that your phone will still be in one piece when basejumping from your pocket.
Performance
The case performs very well as the build quality would imply. Dropping my phone on a variety of surfaces from varying heights yielded no damage to my iPhone. The external buttons are all functional when your phone is sitting inside the case, while accessing the mute toggle switch with my fat thumbs was not possible and plugging in a bulkier headphone jack was a bit difficult. The camera and flash had plenty of room to perform their duties and the case does not inhibit their functionality. Installing this case is very easy and hassle free, just slide the phone into the case and you are ready to go. The case also has a raised edge in the front that allows it to protect the phone if it lands face down.
Style
The case design and style is very simple, sleek, and modern. It features bolstered ends at the top and bottom of the case and a comfortable textured back to ensure a good grip when using your phone. Its sleek, no-catch design is very lightweight and easy to fit in and pull out of your pocket. Overall it doesn’t increase the form factor of the iPhone 5 very much at all and looks as well as it performs. The cases are available in black, orange and pink.
Value
Priced at $29.95 on their website, the SYSTM Hammer by Incase offers great value if you are in the market for an impact resistant case. It is well made, provides excellent protection and looks good doing it. For 30 bucks you can have good peace of mind knowing that your iPhone will be safe and sound when it inevitably slips out of your hand.
