Packaging

The packaging for the SYSTM Forged iPhone case is simple, easy to open, and an example other companies should follow. After picking up the packaging only one adhesive sticker stands in your way before the plastic package can be folded open to remove the case.

Build

forged_build

The case boasts shock absorbing rubber construction and impact protective guardrails. The case
adds a small amount of bulk to the phone which translates into the phone being protected for those
unexpected drops on the ground that make you cringe. A raised SYSTM logo is proudly displayed on the
backside of the case, which is awkwardly bold but does provide some additional grip. The general look
and feel of the case exudes protection.

Performance

forged_performance

The case performs well. The type of rubber used in the construction resists becoming clammy and therefore slides out of a pocket easily. The case did not interfere with several sets of headphones I plugged in and tested. The power port, volume buttons, and mute toggle switch are all easily accessible and their functions are not inhibited in any way. After exercising the case for a week I found it took an uncomfortable amount of pressure to operate the power button. The case hugs the phone and a small lip protects the screen in the event the phone is placed or lands face down. The case provides appropriate clearance for the camera and flash to operate normally.

Style

The case design speaks to its purpose: protection. The raised SYSTM logo on the back of the case is awkward at first, but quickly proves itself as functional by promoting a positive grip. The case adds a small amount of bulk to the phone which is a small inconvenience compared to the protection it provides. The case is available in black and orange.

Value

The SYSTM Forged by Incase is priced at $24.95. I find this to be a very good price for a person wanting to protect their expensive lifeline to friends and family without breaking the bank.
