Review – Incase SYSTM Cartridge iPhone Case

This may be the best case I have used for the iPhone 4/4S. Incase has applied their design and build expertise to the SYSTM line and provided a great line of products at a very fair price point.
Packaging
As mentioned before, the Incase SYSTM packaging system is flawless. This is a fantastic example of how everything that can get away with packaging like this, should. A small adhesive sticker holds the clamshell together, that pulled open then perfectly releases the product while maintaining the packaging itself in an absolute pristine state.
Build
Two things must be said up front; I do not ever use cases with my phone, and I am having a very hard time finding a reason to ever remove this case from my phone. The fit is superb and tight. Every port is perfectly accessible and carved out, allowing even the bulkiest of headphones to plug in. There is a raised roll bar around the top and bottom to protect the fragile faces of the iPhone 4/4S. Every aspect of this case seems firm and solid, without adding any bulk to the aesthetically sleek iPhone.
Performance
The job of this case is to protect your phone. There is no attempt at covering your screen, and I appreciate that. The back panel is covered with a plastic window that seems durable enough for anything you throw at it. The raised roll bar lips around the front and rear mitigate any direct damage or scratching from laying on either side, but I would definitely expect the plastic window to scratch if thrown in a pocket or purse with keys.
Style
Available in two flavors, the style of the SYSTM Cartridge is extremely pleasing to the touch and the eyes. An asphalt and orange colorway gives you the chance to add a splash of color to the monolithic iPhone, or you can keep the look and feel intact with the black and clear version. Both provide a clear back with frosted and clear panes, and I honestly think there is a missed opportunity here to capitalize on the clear window by not adding a bigger variety of color options.
Value
The Incase SYSTM Cartridge for iPhone 4 / 4S comes in at $24.95, and I find this to be right in line with where it should be among the massive society of iPhone accessories. Looking at offerings from some other companies that come in at much higher price points, the Cartridge almost seems underpriced in comparison.
